Beautiful Lacy-ness

My Falling Leaves socks are finished! I took them with me on our trip this weekend to weave in the loose ends. I used two of my Knit Picks Size 1 circular needles and Lang Jawoll superwash sock yarn in Lavender. This is the first time I've used this yarn so I just have to wait and see how they hold up after wearing and washing to make a final judgement. I liked the feeling of the yarn when I was knitting it and they feel very silky and soft on my feet.
I started my Shar-pei purse and am about halfway done with the actual knitting. After the knitting is done there is quite a bit of sewing that needs to take place so I don't anticipate it being finished this week. Maybe next week.

So far So good

I've got the toes and a few repeats of the lace pattern finished for the Falling Leaves socks. They're looking good so far. I'm enjoying this lace because it's not too long of a repeat and it's not hard to see where I left off in the sequence. I ended up doing the toe with a Magic-8 cast-on and increasing up to where the lace starts instead of the short-rows that are done in the pattern. I tried them and the sides weren't looking very nice and I think the pattern was missing the last row of increases because I ended up with one stitch left on each side. So I decided in the interest of progress to do the toe I like and go on from there.

I love my baby's toes!
