I just wanted to post this link so I'll remember to say this to my sons when they are gone at college. I feel like I tell them these things now, but I'm never sure what they hear.
To which I would add words I once had to say to my daughter - Think of the people you know who have died. Has anyone's life ever been enriched or made easier by their loss? Neither would anyone's life be enriched or made easier by your death - we will always love you. Please remember this when your life looks bleak.
